Senior Vice President, and Director, Health Policy Team

Linda Loranger is Senior Vice President and Director of the company’s Health Policy Team. Linda has more than 20 years of experience in public relations and journalism, and is a key strategist for health policy-related initiatives at Burness Communications. As the director of the Health Policy team, Linda manages the work of a dozen team members and provides insight, strategic counsel, messaging and effective media relations in a number of health policy areas, ranging from health care quality and financing and health access to health disparities.

Linda was integrally involved in the national Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Commission to Build a Healthier America, an initiative co-chaired by Mark McClellan and Alice Rivlin. Currently she helps lead a national effort on the part of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation to expand access to oral health care for children. Linda is a highly effective strategist and media trainer and has trained numerous health policy researchers and leaders. Since joining Burness Communications in 1995, she has worked extensively with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Commonwealth Fund, the Harvard School of Public Health, the journal Health Affairs, and several health-related commissions.

Linda began her career as a daily newspaper reporter in Connecticut, reporting for several years at the Hartford Courant. Prior to joining Burness, Linda headed communications for the Alpha Center, a Washington, D.C.-based health think tank, and at an RWJF-funded national program office focused on long-term care financing. She holds degrees in English and communications from the University of New Hampshire. Linda also serves on the Women’s Advisory Board for the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital.
