Carol Schadelbauer, with 25 years of science and health public relations experience for nonprofit organizations, joined Burness in 2000. At Burness, she advises foundations, universities, and associations on communications strategy in the areas of health, health policy, and children's issues. She has taken a leadership role in the development of an Institute dedicated to meet scientists' and health experts' needs to become effective advocates for their research and policy agendas. She has developed a variety of specialized media and policy trainings and seminars -- for the Pew Charitable Trusts, the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, and the Mayday Fund, among others. Carol was one of the developers of the successful Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Broadcast Health Series, a series of television and radio stories that report on important health issues, reaching millions nationwide. Carol holds a faculty position as Lecturer at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore.
Carol's prior experience includes work for the American Hospital Association, the National Academy of Sciences, the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, and Carnegie Mellon University. Carol earned a degree in geology from The College of Wooster, Wooster, Ohio. She is married with two sons, aged 16 and 13.
